Jul 12, 2021 16:24 IST | By Editorji News Desk

Sirisha Bandla, the vice president of government affairs and research operations at Branson’s Virgin Galactic called her maiden trip to space a dream come true.

The aeronautical engineer was part of Richard Branson’s crew on board the SpaceShip Two Unity, an ambitious venture to test the possibility and scope of space tourism.

Guntur born Bandla is the third woman of Indian origin after Kalpana Chawla and Sunita Williams to fly to space.

In an interview to NBC News, she called the journey incredible and said that seeing the view of Earth from space is life-changing.

On being asked whether such tourism will be exclusive for the rich, Bandla said that as Virgin Galactic builds up, they hope that the cost would come down.
