Apr 28, 2021 12:37 IST | By Editorji News Desk

It is a known fact that once coronavirus enters the body, it does not attack the respiratory system alone, but instead makes its way to many other organs.
Even after recovering from COVID-19, patients may return to hospitals four to six weeks later with symptoms such as lethargy, body aches and itchy throats.

As the rate of severe coronavirus cases continues to climb across the country, we need to start paying extra attention to post COVID-19 rehabilitation. So, here's a list of things you need to keep in mind even after testing negative for COVID-19.

  • Keep a check of oxygen saturation, it should be maintained at >94% indoors
  • Keep a check on rise of body temperature above 100F
  • Watch out for signs of lethargy, drowsiness and brain fog
  • Regular monitoring of blood sugar in diabetic patients and blood pressure in hypertensive patients is required
  • Get blood tests like CBC and CRP, if advised by a physician
  • CT scan of the chest after three months to look at the extent of lung recovery post-infection, as advised
  • Must watch for respiratory symptoms like persistence or worsening of cough and breathlessness

Lastly, after having recovered from coronavirus infection, it is important to follow a healthy lifestyle and also take note of any alarming signals.
