Rajasthan’s education minister has kicked up a row with his sexist comment, At a public event, minister Govind Singh Dotsara said that schools with more women teachers and staff tend to see more fights.

The minister reportedly made this remark at a programme to mark International Girl Child Day in Jaipur, on October 11.

“As the head of my department, I have to point out that schools with more women staffers tend to see more fights for various reasons.” Dotsara said that the fights are usually on various issues like arriving late or arriving early.

He then said, “If you correct these small things, you will always find yourselves ahead of men.”

Others at the event were smiling when the minister made the problematic remark.
