Southee puts WTC final shirt on auction for cancer treatment of an 8-year-old

Jun 29, 2021 16:35 IST | By Editorji News Desk

In a heartfelt gesture, New Zealand's Tim Southee has put up his WTC final shirt up for auction to help in the treatment of an 8-year-old kid suffering from a rare and aggressive form of cancer.

In his message on the auction site, Southee appealed to bid for the shirt he donned in the historic Test match vs India which the Kiwis won by 8 wickets. The fast bowler took 4 wickets for 48 runs in the 2nd innings of the World Test Championship final.

All proceeds from the auction, which closes at 8.15 pm New Zealand time on July 8, will go towards supporting the kid in his treatment.
