Trader buys 12 mangoes for 1.2 lakh to help Jharkhand girl pursue online classes

An 11-year-old girl from Jharkhand is on cloud nine these days. She has got her dream smartphone to pursue online classes. Thanks to an 'uncle' from Mumbai. Tulsi Kumari, who sells mangoes on roadside in Jamshedpur, managed to buy a high-end smartphone for online classes after a Mumbai businessman bought 12 mangoes for 1.2 lakh paying ₹10,000 per mango to help the girl.

Ameya Hete, a Mumbai based businessman, got to about Tulsi Kumari through local media reports. He bought one dozen mangoes from her for Rs 1.2 lakh to help her buy a smartphone and continue with online classes. He has also given Kumari a mobile phone worth ₹13,000 and Internet recharge throughout the year thus ensuring that there would be no interruption in the education of the girl child, reports said.

Coronavirus pandemic that has brought immense grief and hardships for people, especially to the poor, has also thrown up numerous such heart warming stories of people going out of theie way to help others.
